Location
University Place is a well-loved community on the shores of the Salish Sea just south of the Tacoma Narrows, and North of Steilacoom. And it’s where you’ll find Chambers Bay Golf Course, host of the 2015 US Open. The public course is surrounded by a waterfront park, including a 3.25 mile loop trail with views across the Sound to the Olympic Mountains, a playground, a big lawn for picnics and kite-flying, and the Chambers Bay Grill.
Amenities such as the University Place Pierce County Library are just a short drive away as well. Incidentally, you'll also see Bliss Creamery right there between the library and Whole Foods, but we're not sure if you really want to know how good that ice cream is! Don't forget our locally owned grocery either. Harbor Greens is just a couple miles north on Bridgeport and it's a wonderful source for fresh produce, take-and-bake pizza, wine, and nursery items like flowering baskets. Trader Joe's is just about a 7 minute drive away, so there really is a good selection of grocery options within reach.
Home to some of the areas most sought after schools, University Place is great for folks of any age. Explore the variety of parks and playfields, get out on the golf courses, visit the community garden, and head south to scenic Steilacoom for lunch or a coffee date. Tacoma with its hospitals, museums, farmers markets, and annual events is your neighbor, so you can get in on all the action there too.
Branch out just a bit beyond University Place into Tacoma’s West Slope for the brewery, marina, Titlow Beach Park and other destinations on Tacoma's westside waterfront.

Front Entry
A paved pathway set between landscaped garden beds leads from the driveway to a covered front entry ready to welcome guests. A transom window shines extra light onto the entry hall and double doors open to the bonus room. Keep in mind all the Luxury Vinyl Blank flooring and carpeting is brand new.
Bonus Room
Set up a home office, library, den, tv room, or exercise space in here. Or get grandmotherly and call it the parlor. The double doors will keep your antiques, china cabinet, collectibles (maybe even your stash of secret snacks) safe from the crowd who came over for pizza night.
Living Room
West and south facing windows bring natural light into the living room long into the evening. Find a freshly painted interior, and brand new carpet throughout the open living space. A gas fireplace insert adds warmth and ambiance to chilly evenings, dinner parties, and coffee with friends. But there's no reason to be cold with the new furnace installed in the fall of 2023! This is the room for lounging with a book, for curling up with the cat, for hosting holiday gatherings, for listening to albums by the fireside.
Dining Area
The dining area beside the living room makes for seamless hosting and is perfect for everyday meals as well. Use the bar counter as a buffet when serving dinner, or set up a few stools for additional seating. Notice the plentiful recessed lighting overhead, no chandeliers to knock into or to dictate just where the table goes.
Eat-in Kitchen
The eat-in kitchen is just beyond the dining area with windows overlooking the back garden. Set a table by the window for breakfast, coffee breaks, and as a designated "kids table" when people gather for celebrations. Notice the tall pantry shelves and the cupboard storage under the cooktop. Guests can pull a stool up to the kitchen island with its cooktop and chat with the chef (or maybe even help chop and peel).
Take the door from the kitchen straight out to the covered patio, a perfect spot for a cup of tea or a little happy hour treat before dinner.
Primary Suite
Double doors at the end of the carpeted hall enclose the primary suite. The suite includes a private bathroom, and a walk-in closet with shelving for keeping items organized. Head straight out through the sliding glass door to the back patio for fresh air right before bed, or first thing in the morning.
The private 5-piece bath offers a tiled shower stall and a soaking tub. Two vanities increase the storage and provide flexibility when sharing the bathroom with a companion—choose your own sink! Bright lighting, fresh paint, and brand new flooring complete the private full bath in the primary suite.
2nd Bedroom
The 2nd bedroom with its north windows overlooks the covered patio. New carpet, fresh paint, and a good-sized closet complete this bedroom. The 3/4 bath is available right across the hall. If you don’t have a housemate or many overnight guests, this room also makes an excellent office or studio space for creative pursuits.
3/4 Bath
You'll find this 3/4 bath in the carpeted hallway across from the 2nd bedroom. It’s close to the kitchen and living room as well. This bathroom has brand new flooring, an easy-to-clean shower surround, and storage under the vanity. A linen closet is handy right outside the bathroom.
Laundry Room
Take the hall straight back from the front door to this laundry room with a utility sink and cabinets for storage. The back door leads into the garage with no steps! Remember, this is truly a one-level home. Fold laundry on the countertop and tuck cleaning supplies and other odds and ends into the cupboards. There's also a closet in the hallway for storage.
Garage & Grounds
Turn into the Greystone on Bridgeport community and park in the 5th driveway on the left. The attached 2-car garage stands ready at the end of the paved drive. Windows in the garage provide light and fresh air. You'll find the water heater and 2023 furnace near the back door.
A patio and green lawn await just outside the bedroom. A blossoming cherry blooms pink in spring and a blue clematis vine grows along the partial fence between home and the neighbor's place. This side of the condo community borders a quiet residential area rather than the street with a combination of trees, shrubs, and fencing for privacy. Plantings include Japanese maples, dogwoods, fir, rhododendrons, lilacs, heather, a pyramidal arborvitae hedge and more. Don’t forget the HOA takes care of planting, mowing, and trimming so the grounds always look good, no matter what else you have going on in life.
