WEST TACOMA

Coming off of the tail end of 6th Ave, before you reach the Narrows Bridge, before you head over to University Place, you're in West Tacoma. Located just a short drive from both Titlow Beach and Point Defiance, West Tacoma is a scenic suburb of North Tacoma, boasting a number of homes that are ideally suited for families – a handy quality, considering the close proximity of elementary, middle, and high schools.

Also in the area is Tacoma Community College, which features a culturally diverse cross-section of students, ranging from high school students getting a jump on higher learning, to adults jumping back into scholastics. Nearby affordable housing is available to help students offset the costs of attending school.

West Tacoma is close to both 6th Ave and Pearl St., with each thoroughfare packed with a plethora of dining options, churches, shops, and markets. There's even a nearby musical theater, which regularly stages some of the most exciting plays in town.

Titlow Beach Park is a lovely place to dine and take a walk on the water. Beachside restaurants include Steamer's seafood and the Beach Tavern.

The Narrows Bridges connect West Tacoma to Gig Harbor.
